Hostess – Talea

The Hostess at Talea welcomes guests and supports the restaurant’s front-of-house operation at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on seating coordination, telephone bookings, restaurant presentation, guest-history support, communication of guest feedback and consistent delivery of courteous service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the restaurant and hostess desk for opening according to established standards.
• Check table-top items and seating areas for cleanliness and presentation.
• Coordinate the seating plan with the reservation book and restaurant management.
• Greet guests warmly and seat them according to service standards and preferences.
• Assist restaurant service when requested by management.
• Handle telephone bookings and enquiries accurately and courteously.
• Keep Restaurant Manager and Assistant Restaurant Manager informed of guest comments and complaints.
• Complete closing procedures and clean and collect table-top items.
• Maintain menus, drinks lists and guest collateral in good condition.
• Support guest-history record maintenance.
• Attend meetings, briefings and training sessions and maintain professional grooming.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in a comparable luxury-hospitality hostess role is useful.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer-service and professional attitude.
• Strong attention to presentation, organization and guest detail.
• Ability to remain composed and welcoming during busy service.
