Description
NOV is seeking a Quotation Specialist with a mechanical or industrial engineering background to coordinate proposal preparation for technical products and projects. The specialist reviews customer requests, organises input from multiple departments and assembles accurate quotations and bid documents. The position requires commercial awareness, disciplined follow-up and the ability to deliver complete proposals within customer and department deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review requests for quotation and invitations to bid with sales leadership, interpreting scope, technical specifications, bidder instructions, price sheets and exceptions.
- Coordinate proposal inputs from application engineering, manufacturing, compliance, finance, legal, customer service, field service, logistics, quality and project teams.
- Organise proposal kick-off meetings and follow up on actions, responsibilities and outstanding documents.
- Prepare complete proposals and estimates using applicable systems, including D365, Omega and CPQ, while following approval procedures.
- Track departmental KPIs, response times, due dates, bid status and required management approvals.
- Manage post-bid technical and commercial clarifications, and coordinate handover to order-management, project and operations teams.
- Confirm that non-standard items, inspection plans and project requirements are costed and reviewed by the appropriate technical teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or equivalent and approximately 3–5 years of similar experience are required. Previous estimating experience, knowledge of composite products, fiberglass standards, piping or EPC projects, and familiarity with bid and negotiation processes are useful. Candidates should be able to interpret drawings, prepare material take-offs and work confidently with Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP tools.
Skills and Employment Details
Strong mathematics, organisation, written communication, problem-solving and cross-functional coordination are essential.
