Description
Provide geological operations support for biogenic shallow-gas exploration, appraisal and development wells. The role interprets subsurface data, integrates well-log and drilling information and works closely with drilling teams to support decisions and ensure well objectives are met. This full-time opportunity is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with duties and stakeholder interfaces shaped by the assigned function and asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide geological support for active drilling programmes and associated exploration, appraisal and development activities.
- Interpret subsurface data and integrate well logs, drilling data and geological observations for operational decisions.
- Monitor drilling progress against well objectives and communicate geological risks or changes to the responsible teams.
- Coordinate with drilling and operations geologists, service providers, contractors and partner companies on technical studies.
- Prepare geological interpretations, technical reports and presentations to document findings and support management decisions.
- Contribute to planning and follow-up for geological activities associated with the shallow-gas programme.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.
- At least 8 years of experience in exploration and development operations geology and drilling.
- Experience with geological and office software applications and preparation of technical reports is required.
- Site visits may involve exposure to heat, humidity, dust and other outdoor operating conditions.
Skills and Competencies
