Senior Manager _ Projects _ Homecentre

The Senior Manager oversees new-store fit-outs, refits, refresh projects and rollout activity from concept inception to handover. The position is responsible for detailed planning, materials, contractor evaluation, project controls and coordination with internal teams, consultants, malls and suppliers. It aims to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within approved budget and scope, while protecting business continuity and the company’s contractual position.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate project takeover and delivery from brand concept through construction, making sure requirements, technical standards and handover expectations remain clear.
• Build project programmes, resource plans, construction schedules, long-lead item lists and drawing/material trackers for every assigned project.
• Work with MEP consultants, contractors and site teams to resolve design coordination issues, review shop drawings and maintain construction progress.
• Control project scope, variations, procurement status, budgets and forecasts; flag risks early and prepare recovery plans when required.
• Lead site meetings, review quality and safety, manage snag lists and close-out documentation, and provide progress reports and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Have more than ten years of project experience and familiarity with moderate- to high-complexity retail fit-out delivery.
• Be experienced with project planning, contractor and consultant coordination, project documentation, cost reporting and material procurement tracking.
• Understand architectural and MEP coordination, BOQs, shop drawings, method statements, RFIs and variation requests.
• Manage several concurrent workstreams, balance stakeholder needs and maintain accountability for time, cost, quality and safety.
• Communicate clearly with site teams and senior management and be able to coach team members and improve delivery capability.

Skills

Commercial awareness, construction judgement, contingency planning and disciplined project reporting are central to successful delivery in a busy retail environment.
