Make Up Artist

The Makeup Artist provides personalised makeup services and beauty consultations while helping customers select products that suit their needs. The role combines artistry and trend awareness with retail service, product knowledge, sales support and careful store presentation. Senior-level responsibilities may also include coaching other makeup artists and maintaining consistent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide makeup applications, event looks, beauty transformations and tailored product consultations.
• Listen to customer preferences and recommend suitable makeup products, techniques and accessories.
• Build positive customer relationships and encourage repeat visits through a professional, welcoming service style.
• Explain product features and demonstrate suitable use while keeping knowledge current with beauty trends.
• Support sales and loyalty activity by helping customers make informed selections and identifying relevant add-on products.
• Monitor stock movement, maintain accurate inventory records and help reduce waste or stock loss.
• Keep displays and store areas aligned with brand presentation standards and maintain strong housekeeping practices.
• Follow hygiene and safety procedures; senior artists may also coach colleagues on techniques and products.

Requirements and Skills

• Two to five years of makeup artistry experience, preferably in retail or a beauty environment.
• Strong practical makeup skills and detailed knowledge of cosmetics and accessories.
• Excellent communication, consultation and customer-service skills.
• Professional presentation, attention to hygiene and awareness of current beauty trends.
• Ability to work with the retail team on sales, stock control and brand standards.

Qualifications

Practical makeup artistry experience required. Candidates should also demonstrate the role-related skills listed above and be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
