Description
The Assistant Merchandiser helps ensure the right products reach the right stores at the right time and in the right quantities. The role supports merchandise reporting, sales analysis, supply coordination and range planning, sharing useful information with buyers and brand teams to improve product availability and category performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Retail Pro, sell-through, consolidation and product-breakdown reports to support merchandising decisions.
- Coordinate with stores, logistics and warehouse teams so that supply better matches customer demand.
- Analyse best- and worst-selling products, including price points, colours, styles and category patterns.
- Review previous-season sales and report on current-season performance and emerging trends.
- Support category volume and profitability through careful product and stock analysis.
- Gather customer feedback and competitor information, sharing opportunities with the brand team.
- Coordinate with buying on orders, repeats, damages, range planning, sales analysis and deliveries.
- Prepare merchandise plans and information needed for product-range presentations and buyer reviews.
- Maintain accurate, timely reports and handle confidential merchandising documents carefully.
Requirements and Skills
- Good analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Comfort preparing reports and working with retail or merchandising data.
- Organisation and communication skills for coordination with stores, logistics, warehouses and buyers.
- Ability to compare product performance and identify stock or range opportunities.
- Confidential handling of documents and reliable follow-through on deadlines.
