Lead Architect – AI

The Lead AI Architect guides the design and delivery of AI products from discovery through production and continuous improvement. The role turns business goals into secure, scalable and measurable solutions, selecting the right methods across predictive machine learning, generative AI and tool-enabled workflows. It works closely with product, engineering, data, security and operations teams and provides hands-on technical leadership throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with product owners to define AI use cases, user journeys, feasibility, desired outcomes and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Own architecture across user experience, applications, models, data, integrations and infrastructure, documenting trade-offs and non-functional requirements.
• Design suitable solutions using predictive ML, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, multimodal models or agentic workflows when they add clear value.
• Evaluate models, platforms and vendors through structured experiments, recommending build-versus-buy choices based on quality, security, latency, cost and portability.
• Guide implementation and code reviews, prototype high-risk assumptions, mentor engineers and embed privacy, access control, monitoring, testing, fallback and incident controls.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bring a strong record in software, solution or AI architecture, with experience shipping and operating enterprise-grade products.
• Have approximately eight or more years in engineering or architecture, including three or more years delivering AI/ML solutions, or equivalent evidence of experience.
• Demonstrate direct experience taking an LLM-based or agentic solution into production, beyond demonstrations or proofs of concept.
• Understand evaluation methods, model lifecycle management, retrieval, integration, security and responsible AI practices.
• Communicate design choices and operating trade-offs clearly and guide cross-functional teams through delivery and ongoing improvement.

Skills

Experience in regulated enterprise settings, AI platform design, knowledge graphs, model serving, tool-integration patterns or AI/cloud certifications can be an advantage.
