Azure Data Engineer

Landmark Digital is hiring an Azure Data Engineer to design, implement and optimize data solutions across its cloud data environment. The role focuses on building efficient pipelines, managing data quality and storage, developing complex processing solutions and supporting data-driven business initiatives. The engineer will work with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse and related integration and visualization services in a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize Azure-based data solutions and engineering processes.
• Develop efficient ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and manage data within Azure Data Lake.
• Build complex stored procedures and processing solutions using Azure Databricks or Synapse.
• Use Python, SQL or Scala for data transformation, manipulation and analysis.
• Apply data modelling, warehousing and integration principles to enterprise data solutions.
• Implement data governance, quality, security and validation practices.
• Optimize Azure storage and processing for performance, scalability and cost.
• Work with Synapse Analytics to enable actionable intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
• Support data visualization and integration using Power BI, Qlik, Logic Apps and related services.
• Monitor data-platform performance, troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on automated deployment, configuration and monitoring using Azure DevOps or PowerShell.
• Document technical designs, procedures and engineering standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 6-8 years of relevant data-engineering experience.
• Strong Python, SQL or Scala skills.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks and Synapse.
• Understanding of data modelling, warehousing, governance, quality and security.
• Experience handling large data volumes and optimizing cloud performance.
• Retail-domain experience is valuable.
• Ability to collaborate across data, DevOps, analytics and business teams.
