Fintech Architect

The Fintech Architect helps shape secure and scalable technology architecture for financial services and digital banking. The role connects business needs with technical design across banking platforms, cloud and on-premise environments, application security and integration, ensuring that digital solutions meet enterprise architecture and security expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review architecture designs for digital banking, payments and other financial technology solutions.
• Assess technology choices across mobile and online banking, ATMs, payment systems, treasury and trade finance platforms.
• Define secure integration patterns and architecture principles for cloud and on-premise environments.
• Apply security engineering practices covering identity, authentication, network controls, cryptography and application security.
• Work with technology, business and security teams to translate requirements into practical architecture decisions.
• Review designs for alignment with enterprise standards, resilience, regulatory obligations and recognised security frameworks.
• Communicate architecture trade-offs, risks and recommendations to technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security or a related field is relevant. The role calls for knowledge of banking systems and secure architecture, including cloud security and DevOps practices. Professional credentials such as TOGAF, CCIE, CCSP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT or ITIL are useful where held.

Employment Details

This is a full-time opportunity with ADIB - Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, based in Abu Dhabi. Compensation details are not included. Role-specific conditions should be confirmed during recruitment.

The architect should produce designs that are secure, supportable and aligned with business outcomes. Relevant frameworks and standards include ISO 27001, NESA, PCI DSS, SWIFT, SABSA and TOGAF, as applicable to the solution and control environment.
