Technical Superintendent

The role supports the safe, reliable, and cost-effective technical operation of assigned vessels. It coordinates maintenance, inspections, repairs, surveys, and technical projects while ensuring vessels remain compliant with applicable flag, class, safety, and company requirements. The position is based in Dubai, UAE unless otherwise confirmed during recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and defect resolution for assigned vessels.
• Coordinate dry-docking, class surveys, upgrades, modifications, and repair-yard activities, ensuring agreed schedules and budgets are followed.
• Work with vessel crews, procurement teams, service providers, and technical specialists to source parts and resolve operational issues.
• Review technical reports, maintenance records, survey status, and expenditure, escalating risks and deviations promptly.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement in vessel reliability, cost control, and maintenance systems.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates should bring relevant marine engineering, naval architecture, or nautical qualifications, supported by practical vessel maintenance or technical management experience. Familiarity with class requirements, planned maintenance systems, technical documentation, budgeting, and marine safety standards is valuable. Senior fleet roles typically require substantial experience in a similar shore-based or onboard position.
