MCV Draftsman

The draftsman prepares clear, accurate technical drawings and project documentation for marine cargo vessel operations and project-specific vessel arrangements. The role works closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to convert technical requirements into practical, safe, and buildable drawings. The position is based in Dubai, UAE unless otherwise confirmed during recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project requirements and assess suitable vessel arrangements and stowage options.
• Prepare sea-fastening, lashing, structural steelwork, mooring, ramp, and berthing drawings as required.
• Develop load-out and load-in sequence drawings and supporting technical details for operational teams.
• Update drawings following technical reviews, site feedback, and project changes, maintaining revision control.
• Support commercial and engineering colleagues with vessel deployment concepts and customized technical solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants should have relevant drafting, marine engineering, naval architecture, or technical design education and practical experience with CAD software. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical specifications, and an understanding of marine structures, fabrication drawings, and operational safety.

Skills and Competencies

Relevant skills include AutoCAD, technical drawings, structural steelwork, lashing plans, load-out sequences, marine layouts. The candidate should be proactive, organized, able to communicate clearly, and comfortable working collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
