Staff Data Scientist

The Staff Data Scientist applies advanced analytics and machine learning to complex business problems, translating data into measurable insights and production-ready solutions. The role combines technical leadership, experimentation, model development, and close collaboration with business and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Frame business problems as analytical questions and define measurable success criteria.
• Explore, clean, and transform large datasets using suitable statistical and computational methods.
• Develop, validate, and improve predictive models and machine-learning solutions.
• Design experiments and evaluate model performance, robustness, bias, and business impact.
• Partner with data engineering and software teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain analytical solutions.
• Explain methods, limitations, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Promote sound modelling practices, reproducibility, documentation, and responsible use of data.

Requirements and Qualifications

A strong background in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field is relevant. Practical experience with Python or similar languages, SQL, statistical modelling, machine learning, and data visualisation is valuable. The position calls for independent problem-solving, clear communication, sound experimental design, and the ability to guide analytical work across teams.
