SR. COST ESTIMATING ENGINEER

Prepare and review project cost estimates to support realistic budgeting, investment decisions and effective project planning. The position evaluates scope, quantities, rates, vendor information and execution assumptions to produce transparent estimates and help project teams understand cost drivers and financial exposure.

The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for project scopes using engineering quantities, historical data, market rates and supplier quotations.
• Review assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, escalation, contingency and risk allowances for consistency.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning and project controls teams to validate estimate inputs.
• Prepare estimate documentation, basis-of-estimate notes, comparisons and cost reports for management review.
• Update estimates as scope and design mature and explain material changes or variances.

Requirements and Experience

• Experience in cost estimating for oil and gas, industrial or major engineering projects is relevant.
• Applicants should understand cost breakdown structures, estimating methodologies, quantity take-offs and vendor pricing.
• Strong numerical analysis, documentation and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance or another relevant discipline
