Specialist – Financial Counselling (SEHA Fertility Center)

Job Overview

The Specialist - Financial Counselling at SEHA Fertility Center supports patients and families in understanding healthcare costs, insurance coverage, payment responsibilities and available financial-assistance options. The role combines patient advocacy, eligibility verification, payment processing and healthcare revenue-cycle support.

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate for uninsured and underinsured patients by explaining estimated financial responsibility and available payment options.
• Explain prompt-pay discounts, payment plans and applicable UAE financial-assistance programs in a clear and respectful manner.
• Collect documentation required for financial-assistance applications and follow up on missing information.
• Work with Patient Access and pre-admission teams to verify demographics, guarantor information and insurance coverage.
• Perform real-time eligibility checks and review healthcare information systems and payer portals to confirm coverage.
• Contact patients, families, advocates and physician offices when additional information is required.
• Provide financial guidance and updates to hospital personnel, including Patient Access, Case Management and Social Services.
• Document patient communications, assistance applications and payment arrangements accurately in the healthcare information system.
• Request, collect and post patient payments to accounts when appropriate.
• Support financial counselling for self-pay, MVA, THIQA, international and other noninsured patient groups.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and follow hospital and legal requirements.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in financial counselling, patient access, healthcare revenue cycle or a related area.
• Knowledge of healthcare revenue-cycle systems and patient-access processes.
• Knowledge of UAE financial-assistance programs and health insurance processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to people from varied backgrounds.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills.
