Consultant Physician Endocrinology (UAE National)

Job Overview

SEHA is hiring a UAE National Consultant Physician in Endocrinology to lead and supervise evidence-based diagnosis, treatment and management of patients within the specialty. The consultant will provide clinical leadership, oversee junior medical staff, participate in quality and safety programs, contribute to education and support clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based endocrinology care.
• Diagnose, manage and treat patients according to recognized specialty standards and SEHA clinical policies.
• Oversee junior medical staff and assume responsibility for the quality of care delivered by supervised clinicians.
• Lead ward rounds and regularly reassess inpatients and outpatients, reviewing investigations and adjusting treatment when appropriate.
• Accept clinically appropriate referrals and coordinate care with emergency, primary-care, specialty and hospital teams.
• Liaise with other specialties and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to support safe and holistic treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and ensure appropriate consent and discharge practices.
• Participate in rotational on-call coverage, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Support quality improvement, clinical audit, incident reporting, peer review and resource-utilization initiatives.
• Teach, guide and supervise junior medical staff and contribute to continuing medical education.
• Participate in clinical research and keep current with relevant literature, technology and advances in endocrinology.

Requirements

• UAE National position.
• Recognized medical degree and approved specialty/board qualification in Endocrinology or an accepted equivalent pathway.
• For the published criteria, Tier 1 candidates require at least 2 years of relevant consultant/equivalent experience post board certification; Tier 2 requires at least 8 years of full-time consultant/equivalent experience post board certification, including fellowship where applicable.
• For UAE nationals, eligible clinical fellowship training may be counted toward experience under the stated rules for qualifying countries or HAAD-accredited programs.
• Eligibility for or valid DOH Abu Dhabi medical licensing.
• Strong clinical leadership, communication, teaching, quality-improvement and multidisciplinary-care skills.
