Project Manager (Senior Specialist)

This position contributes to project delivery and governance through professional judgement and collaboration. The successful candidate will deliver agreed objectives, maintain accurate records and support consistent, high-quality outcomes within the department’s priorities and approved scope.

Key Responsibilities

Lead projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring and close-out. Define scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, budgets and governance arrangements in collaboration with stakeholders. Coordinate cross-functional teams, track risks and dependencies, manage changes, prepare status reports and escalate issues with clear recommendations. Facilitate meetings, maintain project documentation, monitor resource use and evaluate delivery outcomes. Promote consistent project-management practices and ensure work aligns with organizational priorities, policies and quality expectations.

Requirements and Qualifications

A relevant bachelor’s degree in project management, business, engineering or a related field is typically expected, with substantial experience delivering projects or programmes. Professional project-management certification may be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate planning, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, reporting and problem-solving skills. Strong written communication, organization, leadership and the ability to manage competing priorities are important.
