Pediatric Otolaryngology Consultant

Job Overview

The Pediatric Otolaryngology Consultant provides specialized diagnostic, medical and surgical care for infants, children and adolescents with ear, nose, throat, airway, head and neck conditions. The role is designed for a tertiary-care environment and includes complex pediatric case management, surgery, multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric ENT conditions including airway disorders, hearing loss, recurrent infections, sleep-disordered breathing and congenital anomalies.
• Perform appropriate pediatric ENT procedures, including adenotonsillectomy, airway surgery, ear surgery and endoscopic procedures within credentialed scope.
• Assess and manage complex pediatric airway cases in collaboration with pediatric intensive care, pulmonology, anesthesia and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric clinics, case conferences and treatment-planning discussions.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient, emergency and on-call pediatric ENT services as required.
• Ensure evidence-based practice, patient safety, infection control and compliance with clinical governance standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, obtain informed consent and communicate treatment plans clearly with children and families.
• Support education, supervision and mentorship of residents, fellows and other medical staff.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives, research and professional-development activities.

Requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized board/specialist qualification in Otolaryngology (ENT).
• Mandatory fellowship or equivalent advanced training in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
• Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licensure.
• Published posting specifies training/board credentials from Tier 1 countries for the role.
• Minimum 3 years of post-board experience as a Consultant Pediatric Otolaryngologist and experience in a tertiary pediatric or academic setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex pediatric ENT and airway management.
