The Painter - Auto prepares and refinishes vehicle surfaces to achieve a consistent appearance. Work includes inspecting damaged areas, preparing panels, matching paint, applying coatings and checking the final finish. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicle panels and identify damage or preparation needs before painting.
- Sand, clean, fill and mask surfaces to create a suitable base for refinishing.
- Select or mix suitable paint products and apply coatings using appropriate equipment.
- Check colour match, coverage and finish quality, correcting imperfections when needed.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and follow product safety instructions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Practical automotive painting or bodyshop experience is useful. Candidates should understand surface preparation, coating application and how to protect trim, glass and adjacent panels. Safe product handling and attention to detail are important.
