Junior Category Executive

Careem is looking for a Junior Category Executive in Dubai to support category management through data analysis, reporting and commercial insights. Working within the Grocery team, this position turns category, supplier and customer data into dashboards, presentations and practical recommendations. It is suited to an analytically minded professional who is comfortable with SQL and wants to develop a career in category management within a high-speed quick-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze category, supplier and customer data to identify trends, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Write and maintain SQL queries and use reporting or insights tools to extract and validate information.
• Automate recurring reports and build dashboards covering sales, pricing, margins and stock availability.
• Create intuitive self-service dashboards that reduce manual reporting for category stakeholders.
• Prepare clear presentations and data packs for supplier reviews and senior management meetings.
• Support analysis of advertising monetization, margin performance and rebate structures.
• Monitor sales, pricing, promotions and availability and escalate important risks to the Category Manager.
• Support periodic supplier business reviews with performance summaries and recommendations.
• Work with category, supply chain and content teams to improve data-driven decisions.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in an analytical, commercial or category role, preferably in retail, quick commerce or e-commerce.
• Strong ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Hands-on SQL experience and familiarity with BI or reporting environments.
• Experience building dashboards and automating recurring performance reports.
• Strong presentation and data-storytelling skills.
• Understanding of Q-commerce concepts such as advertising monetization, margins and rebates.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and familiarity with visualization tools.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, initiative and willingness to learn.
