Description
The Payments Product Manager owns a defined part of the checkout payment experience across multiple retail brands and GCC markets. The role translates customer, business, partner and compliance needs into product priorities and drives initiatives from analysis and solution design through testing and release. It focuses on improving successful payments, reducing checkout friction and ensuring payment options remain reliable, cost-effective and suitable for local markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and prioritize the payments backlog across cards, wallets, cash on delivery, buy-now-pay-later and other relevant payment methods.
- Turn business problems into requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, then manage delivery from discovery through production release.
- Analyse payment success rates, conversion, declines, failures, retries and drop-offs to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate integrations and performance improvements with payment service providers, acquirers, gateways and BNPL partners.
- Work with finance and operations on disputes, chargebacks and reconciliation exceptions; coordinate UAT, release readiness and post-release validation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Have at least four years of product management, product ownership or a related delivery experience.
- Bring at least two years of hands-on work in payments, fintech or e-commerce checkout, including partner integrations.
- Understand GCC payment methods and requirements, including cards, 3DS2, local methods such as Mada, wallets and BNPL.
- Use SQL or equivalent tools for basic funnel analysis and be comfortable with payment metrics, settlement and authentication flows.
- Know the fundamentals of PCI-DSS and payment security, and use product tools such as Azure DevOps/Jira, Figma and analytics platforms.
Skills
Strong prioritization, structured problem solving, cross-team coordination and practical analysis of conversion and reliability are essential for this role.
