Demi Chef

Paramount Hotel Dubai is hiring a Demi Chef to support daily kitchen operations across restaurants and functions. The position focuses on preparing soups, stocks, roast items and mise-en-place while maintaining food quality, hygiene and workstation standards. The Demi Chef will assist the Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef and other kitchen leaders, coordinate closely with the supervising department head and help ensure smooth service. The role also includes food requisition and stock control, checking product deliveries, monitoring storage areas and maintaining clean refrigerators and workstations. When required, the Demi Chef may take charge of the assigned section in the absence of the Chef de Partie.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare soups, stocks, roast items and daily mise-en-place according to kitchen requirements.
• Assist senior chefs with the smooth operation of restaurants and functions.
• Raise or support food requisitions and monitor stock items responsibly.
• Check refrigerators, workstations and kitchen areas for cleanliness and readiness.
• Coordinate with stewarding to maintain sanitation and personal hygiene standards.
• Inspect delivered products and report shortages or quality concerns to supervisors.
• Support training and operational checks as directed by the kitchen leadership.
• Take responsibility for the section when the Chef de Partie is absent, when required.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP-related procedures throughout operations.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position in a 4- or 5-star hotel or comparable restaurant.
• Hotel School degree, diploma or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Café or premium hospitality kitchen experience is advantageous.
• HACCP certification or strong knowledge is an advantage.
• Good teamwork, discipline and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced multicultural kitchen.
