Clinical Psychologist (Sakina)

Job Overview

SEHA SAKINA is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to provide psychological assessment, formulation, evidence-based interventions and counselling services within a multidisciplinary mental-health setting. The role focuses on patient-centred care, accurate clinical documentation, collaboration with other professionals and compliance with SEHA and Department of Health requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using appropriate standardized tools, interviews, observations and other clinical information.
• Formulate psychological presentations and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide evidence-based psychological interventions, including individual, family and group therapy as appropriate.
• Assess and manage common mental-health presentations such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties and behavioural concerns.
• Maintain a full clinical schedule and provide appropriate follow-up and outreach support to patients and families.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress and clinical decisions accurately and within required timelines.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers and other healthcare professionals to support integrated care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, treatment planning, quality-improvement activities and professional development.
• Provide psychoeducation to patients, families and caregivers and support appropriate crisis intervention and risk-assessment processes.
• Maintain professional ethics, patient confidentiality and compliance with SEHA, DOH and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree or doctorate (PhD/PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid DOH Clinical Psychologist licence or eligibility for DOH licensing.
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital, mental-health centre or multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Excellent communication, documentation, organization and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Arabic and English fluency, immediate availability and mental-health/behavioral-health experience are preferred.
