Clinical Psychologist

Job Overview

SEHA is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide assessment, formulation, treatment and counselling services within its mental-health network. The role requires evidence-based psychological practice, accurate clinical documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration and adherence to professional, regulatory and patient-safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using interviews, standardized tools, observations and relevant clinical information.
• Develop clinical formulations and individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
• Provide evidence-based individual, family and group psychological interventions as appropriate.
• Assess and manage a range of mental-health, emotional and behavioural presentations within the psychologist's scope of practice.
• Maintain an appropriate clinical caseload and provide follow-up care and outreach support to patients and families.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress and clinical decisions accurately and confidentially.
• Work closely with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, nurses and other professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, quality-improvement activities and professional development.
• Provide psychoeducation and appropriate guidance to patients, families and caregivers.
• Support risk assessment, crisis intervention and escalation procedures when clinically indicated.

Requirements

• Master's degree or doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid DOH Clinical Psychologist licence or eligibility for licensing.
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital, mental-health centre or multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of psychological assessment instruments and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, documentation and organizational skills.
• Experience in mental health, behavioral health, psychiatry or community services is desirable; Arabic and English fluency is an advantage.
