Description
The Chiller Technician supports the reliable operation of commercial and industrial cooling systems in facilities management environments. The position covers installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. The technician works with mechanical, electrical and control components to maintain cooling performance, reduce avoidable downtime and help keep building systems safe and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect chiller equipment and related components to identify faults, abnormal readings, leaks or signs of wear.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and service work on cooling systems.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and complete repairs within the limits of technical competence and safety procedures.
- Check mechanical, electrical and control-system functions as part of diagnosis and maintenance.
- Support system testing after repairs and confirm that equipment operates as expected.
- Record completed work, readings, parts used and outstanding issues in maintenance records.
- Report major defects, recurring faults or replacement needs to the responsible supervisor.
- Follow site safety rules and environmental requirements when working with plant and cooling equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Good knowledge of chiller systems and troubleshooting methods.
- Two years of GCC experience or five years in facilities management or maintenance.
- ITI certification in a relevant trade is preferred.
- Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Ability to follow maintenance schedules, work instructions and safety procedures.
Skills and Competencies
The role calls for practical mechanical and electrical awareness, systematic fault finding, safe tool use, accurate reporting and coordination with maintenance colleagues. A careful approach to plant operation and energy efficiency is beneficial.
