Assistant Technician – Electrical

The Technician - Electrical or Electrician supports safe operation of electrical equipment and systems through installation, inspection, testing and maintenance. The role involves identifying faults, carrying out repairs, checking completed work and following approved procedures. Reliable workmanship and careful attention to electrical safety are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned electrical systems, equipment and connections for damage or malfunction.
• Carry out permitted installation, repair and preventive-maintenance tasks according to work instructions.
• Use appropriate tools and testing equipment to check work and confirm safe operation.
• Record completed tasks, report defects needing further attention and request materials when required.
• Follow isolation procedures, site safety rules, PPE requirements and supervisor instructions.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates should have practical electrical knowledge appropriate to the role and understand electrical-work risks. Relevant technical training and maintenance or installation experience are beneficial. Work should be limited to the person’s training, authorization and approved safety procedures.

Work Approach
