Assistant Manager, Planning & Performance

Job overview: Commercial Bank of Dubai is seeking a Assistant Manager, Planning & Performance to join its banking team in the United Arab Emirates. Support financial planning, performance analysis and management reporting for the bank. The role uses financial and operational information to explain business results, assess profitability and provide decision support for business managers and leadership. The successful candidate will work with colleagues and stakeholders to support reliable service, sound decisions and the bank’s operating standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse planning, forecasting and performance information for banking functions and management teams.
• Review revenue, costs, profitability and operational drivers, identifying trends and explaining material variances.
• Support financial models and management reports that combine accounting principles with banking business requirements.
• Respond to ad hoc business queries and provide reliable measurements for day-to-day operational management.
• Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures and departmental operating instructions.
• Coordinate with finance and business stakeholders to validate data, clarify assumptions and improve reporting quality.

Requirements and qualifications

• This position calls for 5–10 years of experience in financial services and experience working in a chartered accountancy firm.
• Knowledge of banking products, planning, operations, profitability, MIS and performance analysis is required.
• Working knowledge of financial modelling, financial and management accounting and commercial banking activity.
• Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage priorities and meet agreed deadlines.
• A professional approach, sound judgement and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality are important.
