Description
The stock control clerk supports accurate inventory movement by checking incoming goods, recording receipts and issues, organising storage and helping reconcile physical stock with system records. The role helps keep materials available for operations while following documentation, handling and housekeeping procedures. This position is part of stock control and warehouse administration and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include the following:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods against delivery documents and purchase or transfer records.
- Record stock receipts, issues, returns and transfers in the relevant system or register.
- Arrange stock in designated locations and follow identification, rotation and safe-handling procedures.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical stock checks and investigation of quantity discrepancies.
- Prepare basic stock reports and alert supervisors to shortages, damaged items or slow-moving materials.
A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A college-level qualification is desirable; relevant stock or warehouse experience is valuable.
- Approximately two to three years in stock control or warehouse administration is a useful benchmark.
- English and Arabic communication and basic computer skills are helpful where required at the site.
- A valid driving licence may be required for the published Oman-based role.
Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.
