Description
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer builds and improves software quality practices for digital products and services supporting travel-related customer journeys. Working within an agile delivery environment, the engineer partners with product owners, architects and software developers to translate functional and non-functional requirements into clear test strategies. The position promotes early risk identification, reliable automated testing and measurable quality controls across product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Clarify business and technical requirements with product owners, architects and engineers, identifying test conditions and delivery risks early.
- Create, maintain and improve automated UI, API and end-to-end test frameworks and test harnesses.
- Coordinate test environments, data and cross-team dependencies to support feature testing throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Configure test tools to collect reliable metrics for team, programme and enterprise quality dashboards.
- Guide developers in maintaining automated functional tests and integrating them into continuous integration workflows.
- Promote quality gates, exploratory testing and practical test design so that defects are found before release.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least three years of IT experience, including quality engineering work in a digital, travel or e-commerce environment.
- Hands-on experience with UI and API automation, programming or scripting, and common test frameworks such as Selenium, WebDriver, Cucumber, JUnit or TestNG.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps or equivalent is important.
Skills and Working Approach
The role requires analytical thinking, disciplined documentation and the ability to influence quality across multiple teams. Experience with at least two programming languages, context-driven testing, cloud or container environments and modern testing practices will help candidates contribute effectively.
