Head of Operations, dnata Erbil

The Head of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across ground handling functions in Erbil, including ramp operations, customer services, technical services and support services. The role is accountable for safe aircraft turnaround, consistent airline service levels and cost-effective use of people and equipment. It leads operational managers, sets priorities and builds strong working relationships with airport authorities, airline partners and internal support teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee ramp, passenger-service, technical and support functions to maintain safe and efficient aircraft turnaround.
• Lead duty managers and operational teams, setting performance goals and providing coaching, feedback and development.
• Create and implement operational policies, systems and procedures that support regulatory compliance and service consistency.
• Monitor airline service-level agreements, resource use, productivity and cost, and lead improvements where performance can be strengthened.
• Build relationships with airport authorities, airline partners and internal stakeholders to manage operational changes and service needs.
• Champion safety, coordinate improvement projects and work with HR on talent development, performance management and succession planning.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least eight years of airport operations experience with a ground-handling agent.
• At least six years in a managerial role with responsibility for operational teams or functions.
• Thorough knowledge of operations and technical services, international standards, industry procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of project-management methods, advanced IT and computer literacy, and any professional or trade licences relevant to the role.
