Network Security Engineer

University Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement and maintain security controls that protect its networks, systems, applications and data. The role focuses on identifying cyber risks, monitoring security events, responding to incidents and strengthening the organisation’s overall security posture. The engineer will work closely with IT and business teams to maintain secure, reliable technology services.

The position covers enterprise networks, endpoints, servers, virtual environments, cloud platforms and connected devices. It requires practical security engineering capability, careful technical documentation and an understanding of how security controls support operational continuity and regulatory compliance in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across networks, systems, endpoints and cloud platforms.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate suspicious activity and use SIEM and other security tools.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, analyse risks and track remediation activities.
• Support incident response, root-cause analysis, reporting and corrective action.
• Manage identity and access controls, including IAM, MFA and privileged access management.
• Secure servers, endpoints, virtualisation, VDI and IoT environments.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points and network access control technologies.
• Support cloud security, compliance, technical policies, network upgrades, patching and Avaya unified communications.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
• Three to seven years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or IT security.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise security tools and platforms.
• CEH, Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP or Azure/AWS security certifications are preferred.
