Medical Laboratory Technologist – Level 1

The Medical Laboratory Technologist supports clinical diagnosis by processing specimens and performing laboratory investigations in line with professional standards. The role requires accuracy, consistency and a strong focus on specimen integrity, quality control and safe laboratory practice. Results and records must be handled carefully so that clinicians can rely on timely and dependable laboratory information.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, register and prepare specimens according to laboratory procedures.
• Perform assigned laboratory tests or histopathology processes and check the quality of results.
• Prepare reagents and consumables and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Operate, clean, calibrate and monitor laboratory equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Record results accurately, observe safety requirements and contribute to quality-improvement activities.

Requirements and Experience
