Description

The Rooms Controller manages and coordinates room inventory at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi to support accurate room status, availability, arrivals and departures. The role works closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales and Revenue Management while supporting room revenue, guest requests, reporting and daily operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control room inventory and maintain accurate room status to support occupancy and revenue objectives.
  • Apply approved overbooking strategies where appropriate and support maximum room availability.
  • Support upselling and room-upgrade opportunities to improve hotel revenue.
  • Handle room-related guest enquiries including room moves, preferences, amenities and accommodation requests.
  • Provide basic Front Office assistance such as issuing room keys and supporting minor billing queries.
  • Coordinate effectively with Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales and Revenue Management.
  • Generate, review and distribute reports covering room inventory, occupancy, status and revenue.
  • Maintain daily records, briefings, administrative documentation and operational reports.
  • Stay informed about hotel policies, promotions, packages, loyalty programs and current operating information.
  • Remain professional, adaptable and composed while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced luxury hotel.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in the same role in a luxury property; resort experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office operations, room inventory and room-status control.
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS or another recognized hotel property-management system.
  • Understanding of room revenue, upselling, occupancy and overbooking procedures.
  • Strong guest-service and luxury-hospitality knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
