Plumber

The Plumber supports the safe and reliable operation of building plumbing systems by maintaining pipework, pumps, fittings and related water services. The position involves responding to maintenance requests, identifying leaks or blockages, completing repairs and carrying out routine inspections. Good workmanship and prompt reporting help reduce disruption to occupants and protect facilities from water damage.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect pipes, fittings, valves, pumps and drainage points to identify leaks, blockages or wear.
• Repair or replace damaged plumbing components using suitable tools and materials.
• Attend maintenance requests and complete assigned work within agreed timeframes.
• Carry out routine checks to identify potential faults before they develop into larger problems.
• Test repaired systems for leaks and correct operation before closing a work order.
• Keep tools, materials and the work area organised and safe.
• Report recurring defects, material needs and work outside the assigned scope to the supervisor.
• Record completed tasks and coordinate with other maintenance trades when work overlaps.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of plumbing systems, pipework, fittings and common repair methods.
• Ability to use plumbing tools safely and accurately.
• Basic understanding of water supply and drainage systems.

Skills and Competencies
