Description
The Electrician carries out electrical maintenance and repair work to help keep hotel facilities and equipment safe and reliable. The role responds to maintenance requests, identifies faults and completes approved work in line with technical procedures. Safe working practices, accurate reporting and coordination with the engineering team are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect electrical systems, fixtures and equipment and identify faults or maintenance needs.
- Carry out approved repairs, replacements and routine checks using suitable tools and materials.
- Respond to work orders and prioritise tasks according to operational requirements.
- Follow isolation, testing and other safety procedures before carrying out electrical work.
- Record completed work, report recurring faults and advise supervisors of parts requirements.
- Coordinate with other engineering colleagues to minimise disruption to hotel operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Electrical maintenance experience and relevant technical training or trade certification; safe working practices and fault-finding skills are important.
- Electrical certification or recognised trade qualification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safe working practices, tools and fault-finding methods is important.
- Ability to read basic technical information and complete work records is useful.
Skills and Personal Attributes
The position requires practical troubleshooting, care and a strong safety mindset. Reliability, clear communication and the ability to work independently while following instructions are important. Relevant working knowledge of the assigned department and the ability to follow established procedures will help the successful candidate contribute from the start.
