Description
The Lead ELV Engineer provides technical direction for extra-low-voltage design and delivery on projects in the UAE. The role coordinates engineering resources, design reviews, technical submissions and implementation activities so that ELV systems meet client requirements, project specifications and local authority expectations. It combines technical depth with team leadership and cross-discipline coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and review of ELV design packages, drawings, specifications and equipment schedules.
- Coordinate systems such as security, surveillance, communications, structured cabling and building technology.
- Review consultant and contractor submissions and resolve technical issues across project disciplines.
- Guide engineers and designers through design coordination, construction support and commissioning stages.
- Attend design and progress meetings, track approvals and manage technical actions and risks.
- Support testing, integration, documentation and final handover of completed systems.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A relevant engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related field is appropriate.
- Extensive experience in ELV engineering and project delivery is expected for a lead role.
- Strong knowledge of ELV design, technical standards and authority requirements is valuable.
- The candidate should have experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and reviewing technical submissions.
- Good leadership, communication and decision-making skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
The position calls for strong ELV design knowledge, technical review, stakeholder coordination and engineering leadership. The lead should be able to set priorities, resolve design conflicts and maintain quality across a project lifecycle. A clear and organised approach to documentation, risk management and commissioning is important.
