Senior Manager – Data Science & AI

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Manager – Data Science & AI to define and lead our enterprise strategy for turning data into business value. You'll drive advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives that generate insight, build predictive models, and embed ethical, scalable AI into flydubai's products, services, and decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the development of machine learning models, algorithms, and AI systems, exploring new approaches to solving business problems
• Drive continuous improvement by staying current on data engineering and AI advancements and recommending new tools
• Build, mentor, and lead a team of data and machine learning engineers and AI specialists
• Develop and execute the organisation's data science and AI vision, aligned with business goals and measurable outcomes
• Identify, design, and implement AI and ML solutions that improve products, services, and operational efficiency
• Establish frameworks for responsible, explainable, bias-free AI in line with regulations and ethical standards
• Partner with product owners, business leaders, and data engineering teams to keep AI initiatives integrated and business-driven
• Track AI research and technology trends, applying them to maintain competitive advantage
• Define KPIs and track ROI for AI initiatives
• Bridge technical and business teams, turning complex challenges into actionable AI-driven outcomes

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (3+ years)
• 10–12 years of experience, including a strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, and AI productization
• Proven track record of delivering AI solutions from concept to enterprise-scale production
• Demonstrated success translating business strategy into AI initiatives with measurable ROI
• Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g. airlines) is preferred
• Certifications such as Google Professional ML Engineer, AWS Certified ML Specialty, or Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate are a plus
