The role works with departmental stakeholders to build credible forecasts, monitor spending and explain performance against plans, supporting sound decisions and responsible resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts using historical results, business assumptions and planned initiatives.
  • Gather forecast inputs from department leads, validate assumptions and consolidate figures into clear financial plans.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports, highlighting actual-versus-budget variances and the factors driving them.
  • Review purchase requisitions and procurement orders to confirm they align with approved budgets and correct accounting codes.
  • Identify financial trends and communicate practical findings, risks and opportunities to finance colleagues and business leaders.
  • Maintain accurate records and support the performance of financial-planning applications, task-management tools and service queues.
  • Contribute to more consistent reporting templates, forecasting processes and stakeholder communication.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A degree in Finance, Financial Management, Economics or Cost Accounting is required.
  • A minimum of two years as a financial analyst, ideally in FP&A or a related area, is listed.
  • Experience with financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to planning platforms such as Oracle EPM, Hyperion, Anaplan or similar tools is useful.
  • ERP experience with systems such as Oracle or SAP is an advantage, along with fluent English.

Skills and Professional Expectations

  • Strong analytical ability and careful attention to financial detail.
  • Clear written communication and confidence explaining variances to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Good Excel, reporting and data-validation habits.
  • Reliable organisation, accountability and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.

The successful candidate should maintain accurate records, communicate clearly and follow relevant safety, confidentiality, quality and professional standards. Teamwork, sound judgement and timely escalation of concerns are important.
