Description
The Technical Product Owner for the Data Science and AI Platform owns data and information products used by analytical teams. The role improves the clarity, quality and usability of metadata, definitions, KPIs and data-product requirements, aligning engineering delivery with the needs of data scientists and business users.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria and product documentation.
- Define metadata, business entities, KPI documentation and data dictionaries with stakeholders.
- Prioritise features and platform improvements based on user value, risk and dependencies.
- Work with engineering and analytics teams to refine requirements and validate delivered capabilities.
- Support adoption of modern data architecture and business-intelligence practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree or honours qualification in IT, computer science, data or a related discipline.
- Typically five or more years of relevant IT experience.
- At least two years in a product-owner or product-manager role with delivery teams.
- Experience with data products, modern data architecture and BI; CSPO, SAFe or PSPO credentials are useful.
Skills
- Product discovery, prioritisation and backlog management.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Communication across technical and business teams.
- Understanding of data quality, metadata and information governance.
