Description
Qatar Airways is recruiting a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I for the Engine Shop in Doha. This role manages off-wing engine, APU and component maintenance within the engineer’s licence authority, preserving airworthiness and operational status. It also provides technical direction to mechanics and supports efficient delivery of shop work.
Engineering decisions must follow approved documentation and licence authority. Clear records, safe task execution and early communication of technical risks help maintain airworthiness, quality and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee engine, APU and component maintenance activities within approved scope and company procedures.
- Use appropriate equipment and tooling and ensure that assigned tasks are completed efficiently.
- Guide mechanics and lead mechanics, sharing technical knowledge and maintaining acceptable workmanship standards.
- Document maintenance tasks and ensure records support airworthiness and traceability.
- Coordinate work priorities, technical issues and resource needs with the supervisor or engineering management.
- Identify process improvements while maintaining safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- A relevant aircraft-maintenance qualification or engineering degree and the licences applicable to the assigned engine facility are required.
- Experience with off-wing engine, APU or component maintenance is relevant.
- Candidates should be able to plan work, use technical data and guide less-experienced staff.
- A strong understanding of safety procedures, tool control and aircraft-engineering records is important.
