Assistant Professor- Aerospace Engineering

Job Overview

Khalifa University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Aerospace Engineering to contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, research, and academic service. The successful candidate will help deliver a strong curriculum, build an active research profile, supervise students, and work with colleagues to advance aerospace engineering knowledge and practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate and postgraduate courses in aerospace engineering and prepare clear, well-organized learning materials.
• Develop syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, laboratory activities, and course resources that support measurable learning outcomes.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, course review, and improvements in teaching methods and instructional technology.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, mark assignments and examinations, and offer additional guidance where appropriate.
• Build a research programme, publish peer-reviewed work, present findings at conferences, and pursue suitable external funding.
• Supervise student projects and theses, support research training, and participate in academic peer review and scholarly events.
• Contribute to department committees, recruitment and outreach activities, professional networks, and a safe academic environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution is required.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience and evidence of research potential are required.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering is strongly preferred.
• Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach at university level and contribute to a research-led department.
• A strong record of academic writing, collaboration, organization, and professional communication is important.
