Description
Qatar Airways is recruiting a Manager Procurement for the IT category in Doha. The role develops category strategy, manages sourcing and supplier relationships, sets cost-saving targets and ensures that purchasing meets commercial, financial and operational needs. It also leads the category team, monitors performance and maintains professional standards and compliance.
The role depends on accurate information, clear accountability and timely follow-through. Practical communication, suitable records, stakeholder coordination and a continuous-improvement mindset help deliver dependable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop IT-category plans, supplier strategies and cost-saving initiatives aligned with group requirements.
- Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with key suppliers and support high-value or high-risk tenders.
- Set category KPIs, monitor performance reports and take action to improve service and value.
- Review procurement documents and ensure alignment with policy, controls and best practice.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on specifications, sourcing methods, delivery timelines, budgets and risk mitigation.
- Manage the category team, assign workload, coach employees and support departmental planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 8 years of job-related experience.
- At least 5 years of IT-category procurement experience.
- Fluent English, strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills are expected.
- Candidates should demonstrate contractual and financial judgment, planning skills and the ability to lead a team.
