BUDGET CONTROLLER

Provide budget-control services to an engineering department, including capital and operating budget processing, authorization-for-expenditure records, invoices and asset capitalization. The role supports accurate financial monitoring so project teams can manage costs, explain variances and keep spending aligned with approved company procedures.

The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual CAPEX, OPEX and non-routine work-programme budget packs and map approved figures in SAP.
• Prepare budget revisions and supplementary requests with complete justification and supporting documents.
• Review authorizations for expenditure, expenditure postings and work-breakdown allocation in relevant SAP modules.
• Coordinate with cost, planning and project teams to record expenditure and process invoices on time.
• Analyze monthly and quarterly variances, prepare reports and check work-in-progress and capitalization records.

Requirements and Experience

• At least seven years of relevant experience in project cost and budget control is required.
• Working knowledge of SAP, including relevant project-system or materials-management modules, is essential.
• Applicants should be comfortable with financial analysis, supporting documentation, internal controls and budget reporting.

Qualifications

Degree in financial accounting, or CPA, ACCA, CGMA or equivalent qualification
