Assistant / Associate Professor – Mathematics

This position contributes to mathematics teaching and research through professional judgement and collaboration. The successful candidate will deliver agreed objectives, maintain accurate records and support consistent, high-quality outcomes within the department’s priorities and approved scope.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct original research in mathematics or an aligned specialization, publish scholarly work and develop collaborations within and beyond the department. Teach undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses, prepare lectures and learning resources, assess student progress and provide academic guidance. Supervise student projects and research where appropriate, contribute to curriculum review and help strengthen quantitative learning across related programmes. Participate in departmental committees, seminars, research events and academic service while maintaining high standards of teaching, scholarship and professional conduct.

Requirements and Qualifications

A PhD in mathematics or a closely related discipline is normally required. Applicants should show research potential or a record of peer-reviewed publications appropriate to the rank, along with the ability to teach foundational and advanced courses. Evidence of effective teaching, student supervision, collaborative research and grant activity is advantageous. Strong analytical reasoning, communication and a commitment to inclusive student learning are expected.
