Job Overview
Khalifa University is recruiting an Assistant or Associate Professor in Mathematics to strengthen research, teaching, graduate supervision, and academic service. The department welcomes strong work across computational and applied mathematics, statistics, optimization, mathematical modelling, data science foundations, and other areas that can advance interdisciplinary research and the university’s scientific profile.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain an independent research programme with internationally visible outcomes in an area of mathematics.
- Publish research in respected peer-reviewed journals and scholarly venues and present findings to the wider academic community.
- Pursue external funding and develop collaborations with researchers, industry partners, and other academic departments.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses and prepare clear syllabi, assessments, and course materials.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in research projects and thesis work.
- Contribute to curriculum development, student feedback, assessment practices, and continuous improvement in teaching.
- Participate in departmental service, professional activities, knowledge transfer, and interdisciplinary applications of mathematics.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Assistant Professor applicants should show strong achievements for their career stage and potential for teaching and graduate supervision.
- Associate Professor applicants should demonstrate sustained research recognition, successful supervision, leadership, and external engagement.
- Postdoctoral experience is advantageous for Assistant Professor candidates.
- Applicants should bring research integrity, mentoring ability, collegiality, and a commitment to departmental development.
