The Structural Inspector – Site checks structural construction activities in Abu Dhabi to confirm that work follows approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements. The role involves field inspections, documentation and coordination with contractors and engineers. It helps identify defects or deviations early and supports the safe, compliant completion of structural works.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concrete placement, structural steel and related site activities.
- Check work against approved drawings, material approvals, method statements and specifications.
- Attend inspection requests, record observations and follow up corrective actions.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, consultants and quality teams on inspection findings.
- Review test records and maintain clear site inspection reports and documentation.
- Escalate deviations, workmanship concerns or safety issues to the appropriate project representatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A civil or structural engineering qualification or relevant inspection background is suitable.
- Experience in structural construction, site inspection or quality assurance is beneficial.
- The candidate should be able to read structural drawings and understand construction methods.
- Knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, formwork and steelwork inspection is valuable.
- Good reporting, communication and attention to detail are required.
Skills and Competencies
The inspector should be methodical and observant, with an ability to compare actual site work against technical requirements. Clear documentation, professional communication and consistent follow-up are important. A safety-focused approach and sound understanding of structural construction will support effective inspection.
