Stores Manager

Job Overview

Oversee storage and logistics for aircraft parts, tools and maintenance materials, ensuring that operational teams receive serviceable items when required. The manager is responsible for efficient inventory control, material distribution, safe handling and compliance with aviation regulations and quality standards. Effective planning helps reduce aircraft downtime, control costs and sustain maintenance readiness.

The position works closely with operational colleagues and other departments to resolve issues, keep records complete and meet agreed deadlines. A practical approach, consistent procedures and attention to quality help maintain reliable day-to-day airline operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage receipt, storage, preservation and issue of aircraft parts, tools and maintenance materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, stock locations, traceability and serviceability status.
• Plan resources and stock levels to support scheduled maintenance and urgent operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with storage conditions, shelf-life controls, handling rules and approved procedures.
• Supervise stores personnel, establish work priorities and maintain consistent service standards.
• Review performance, resolve shortages and coordinate with procurement, maintenance, quality and finance teams.

Requirements

• Applicants should have experience managing aviation stores, spare parts, logistics or a technical warehouse function.
• The role requires strong inventory discipline and understanding of controlled parts and serviceability records.
• Candidates should be able to lead a team and coordinate supply priorities with maintenance operations.
• Experience with stock systems, process improvement and supplier coordination is advantageous.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, engineering or stores management is suitable.
• Training in aviation stores, dangerous goods or quality systems may be beneficial.
• Candidates should be comfortable preparing stock, performance and compliance reports.
