Description
The Senior VT Engineer – Site oversees vertical transportation work, including lifts and related systems, during construction in the UAE. The position coordinates installation, inspections, testing and commissioning to ensure that equipment is installed safely and operates according to approved specifications, authority requirements and project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review lift and vertical-transportation drawings, equipment data and technical submissions.
- Coordinate installation activities with specialist contractors, main contractors and other site disciplines.
- Inspect guide rails, shafts, machinery, doors, controls and associated installation work.
- Monitor testing, commissioning, safety checks and resolution of defects before handover.
- Track approvals, inspection requests, progress reports and outstanding technical actions.
- Support client and consultant coordination and verify that records are complete for acceptance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualification requirement: Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
- A relevant engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline is suitable.
- Substantial experience with lift or vertical-transportation systems on construction sites is expected at senior level.
- Knowledge of installation, testing, commissioning and applicable safety standards is important.
- The candidate should be able to review technical drawings and contractor submissions.
- Strong coordination, inspection and reporting skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
The position requires practical knowledge of lift systems, site coordination and quality inspection. The engineer should be able to identify installation issues, follow testing requirements and work effectively with specialist vendors. A disciplined approach to safety, technical records and handover documentation is essential.
