The QA/QC Engineer – Marine/Civil is responsible for applying project quality requirements to marine construction work in Abu Dhabi. The position covers structures such as pontoons, floating structures, jetties, walkways, pile foundations and marine access facilities. The engineer verifies that materials, construction methods, inspection records and completed works meet approved specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the Project Quality Plan, inspection and test plans, method statements and QA/QC procedures.
- Inspect pontoons, floating structures, jetties, walkways, pile foundations and marine access structures.
- Monitor pile installation, alignment, verticality, driving records, integrity testing and load testing.
- Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, concrete placement, curing and repair work.
- Verify steel fabrication, welding, bolting, connections, handrails and protective coating systems.
- Coordinate material inspections, laboratory tests, concrete cube tests, welding and non-destructive testing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A civil engineering or related construction qualification is suitable for this quality role.
- Relevant QA/QC experience in marine, civil or infrastructure construction is important.
- The candidate should understand inspection and test plans, method statements and project quality records.
- Knowledge of concrete, piling, steel fabrication, welding and material testing is beneficial.
- Strong reporting, coordination and attention to detail are required.
Skills and Competencies
The position requires methodical inspection, quality documentation, non-conformance follow-up and clear communication with construction teams. The engineer should be comfortable interpreting specifications, witnessing tests and maintaining traceable records. A practical understanding of marine construction methods and a consistent commitment to safety and quality are essential.
