OCC Controller

The OCC Controller coordinates airport and ground-handling activity from the Operations Control Centre, supporting accurate aircraft movement records, load control, staff allocation and smooth passenger processing. The role leads OCC coordinators and works closely with ramp teams, airlines, airport departments and external authorities. Strong situational awareness is necessary to manage schedule changes, protect service standards and organise a prompt response during incidents or disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee OCC activities, guide coordinators and monitor shift performance, staffing and operational priorities.
• Allocate aircraft stands, check-in counters, boarding gates and baggage belts, and update flight information displays as required.
• Coordinate load controllers, ramp staff, equipment operators, cleaners and other teams across aircraft movements.
• Check movement records and technical charge notes, coordinate cash collection for ad-hoc flights and prepare operational reports.
• Monitor aircraft and stand utilisation, process parking and landing-permission requirements, and communicate changes to airlines and departments.
• Ensure emergency orders, safety inspections, incident reports, risk assessments and corrective actions are completed according to procedure.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Graduation, diploma or equivalent education.
• Minimum ten years of aviation experience, including at least three years in load control.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic is an advantage. A valid UAE driving licence is required or preferred according to operational authorisation.
• Good understanding of airport operations, ground handling, airline contracts and IATA regulations.

Skills and Working Approach

Candidates should be comfortable with Microsoft Office, email and reporting tools, remain calm under pressure and communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders during peak periods and irregular operations.
