Mechanical Engineer – Static

NOV is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer – Static in Dubai to execute mechanical engineering activities for oil and gas projects while maintaining technical integrity, quality and compliance with applicable standards. The role covers engineering analysis, calculations, design reviews, technical documentation, coordination with other disciplines and support for project delivery. The position also contributes to standardization, continuous improvement and technical development of less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute static equipment engineering activities in accordance with project specifications, company procedures and international standards.
• Perform feasibility studies, engineering analysis, calculations and detailed design activities.
• Review designs, layouts, drawings, 3D models and technical documentation.
• Support equipment design calculations and finite element analysis where required.
• Coordinate interfaces with Process, Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Support design reviews, project coordination and technical issue resolution with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Contribute to design procedures, checklists, guidelines and lessons learned.
• Provide technical support to project teams and mentor less experienced engineering personnel.
• Help ensure projects meet schedule, quality and cost expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Approximately 8–10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in upstream or downstream oil and gas.
• Strong static equipment engineering experience.
• Experience with PV Elite, Compress, TANK or comparable pressure-vessel design software.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, TEMA, PD5500 and applicable API standards.
• Experience with layout development, skid-based design and materials such as CS, LTCS, stainless steel, clad and high-alloy materials.
• Strong analytical, coordination and communication skills.
